P25 demonstrates that ‘the process’ is as critical as ‘the outcome’. A project delivered through the collective effort of a visionary client, an integrated consultant team, and skilled contractors aligned by shared purpose. Located within the largest single commercial office floor plate in the Perth CBD, P25 challenges conventional commercial workplace models by transforming a former food court into a high-performing, human-centred environment. The decision to consolidate six floors into one was not a compromise, but a strategic move that unlocked scale, efficiency, and opportunity enabling greater collaboration, enhanced wellness infrastructure, focused work settings, and genuine choice in how people work.
An innovative lease negotiation process reduced waste, cost, and time while allowing design decisions to be informed, deliberate, and performance driven. Rather than pursuing token innovation, the design prioritised longevity, flexibility, and equity of experience, ensuring all users benefitted. Every element of the space was designed to meet a real, often multi-layered need. Spatial planning prioritised equitable access to natural light, intuitive navigation, and the seamless integration of social and task spaces. High ceilings were unlocked by running services underfoot rather than overhead, creating a sense of volume while still human scale at low level. Air is distributed from beneath the floor, supported by adjustable under-desk vents that enable each person to tailor their thermal comfort.
Biophilic design, natural materials, and layered textures connect people to nature, while equitable technology supports contemporary hybrid ways of working between the physical and digital. Circularity and adaptive reuse were embedded throughout, supported by an accountability framework to ensure long-term resource recovery commitments. P25’s true innovation lies in its mindset where thoughtful orchestration of purpose, performance, and restraint delivers a workplace that sets a new benchmark for the future.
